DETENTION OF LETTERS AT THE POST OFFICE.
’ TO THE EDITOR OE THE HEW ZEALAND TIMES. Sib, —I wish to draw your attention to' certain practices of tho Wellington Post Offlco officials, which certainly cause inconvenience, and might possibly do grave injury to tho letter-writing public. A few days ago I received notice from the Wellington office informing mo that a letter of mine directed to —— was lying there, which could not be forwarded until a deficiency of postage thereon waapaid. Now, in,this part of the country we only get a mail once a week, and had my letter been of importance I should have lost at least a fortnight in time, not to mention any more serious Joss. Hoping that I am not trespassing too far on your space.—l am, &c.,; '■ L. 2. Whareama, July 21,
