WRECK OF THE SCHOONER MAIDEN CITY.
Wanganui, Friday. Tire schooner Maiden City, with railway material, from Wellington, is ashore a quarter of a mile north of the heads. She was found during the night to be in a sinking condition, having sprung a leak. She was run ashore about four o’clock this morning. This is the third shipping disaster here within a week. Latest. The Maiden City is now under water. She is believed to be settling down into the sand. There is very little hope of saving any material, portion of the cargo.
