Thursday’, July 18. (Before T. A, Manaford, Esq., R.M.) DRUNKENNESS. Two inebriates were dealt with in the usual manner. ■ LARCENY*. William Lee was remanded till next day on a charge of stealing certain cooking utensils, &c., the property of William Benson; STEALING A WATCH, John Gray, a laborer, was charged with stealing a lady’s gold watch at Porirua, the property of Mrs. Susannah Crone. The prosecutrix was examined, and identified the watch as her property. Constable Ryan, who arrested the prisoner, stated that prisoner had sold the watch to a publican named Cotfcerill, and prisoner stated he remained at the hotel until he had spent the money. His Worship said, he should like to have the publican in question summoned as a witness, and prisoner was remanded accordingly till nest day. civil cases. C. D. Barraud v. W. Alzdorf, £6 18s, ; defendant ordered to pay 20s. a month, or in default three weeks’ imprisonment. L. Ocka v. Charles Kay, £3 15s. fld.; defendant ordered to pay 20s. a month, or three weeks’ imprisonment. Woods, Crosbie, and Co. v. PI Mclntyre, £8 19s. 9d.; defendant ordered to pay on or before 25th July, or six weeks’ imprisonment. Brogden and Sons v. Thomas Webb, £6l 16s. 7d.; judgment for amount and £6 19s. costs.
