Tuesday, July 16. (Before T. A. Mansfor(l,-Esq.,'R.M-) DRUNKENNESS. Three offenders were disposed of in the usual way, : i BREACH OF MERCHANT SHIPPING ACT. John Seaman, a sailor, was,; at' the instance of Captain Brothers, ordered to be imprisoned for twelve weeks at hard labor, for a breach of this Act. , ; larceny. David Wylie was remanded to Foxtoa on a charge of stealing a revolver. The stolen article was found in prisoner’s swag when arrested; CHIMNEY ON FIRE. Abraham Scott was fined Is. and costs (95.) for allowing his chimney to be on fife. MUNICIPAL CORPORATIONS ACT. James Roberts *was .fined Is. and costs for a breach of this Act. MALICIOUS INJURY TO PROPERTY.. A charge of this nature, brought by Kow Tua (a Chinaman) against William Clarke, was adjourned for a week. BREACH OF THE PEACE. ' * Patrick HcOafferty and Robert French were charged with committing a breach of the peace. The former was fined 10s. and costs, or three days’ imprisonment at hard labor, and ordered to enter into his own recognizance of £lO to keep the peace for one calendar, mouth. The latter was fined 10s. and costs, or three days, at hard labor in default. ASSAULT. ' # ; A charge of assault, brought fiy Henrietta Hill against Hure, was dismissed! CIVIL CASES. F. G-. Routh v. W. Eastwood, £5 os. fid. Defendant ordered to pay on or before 28rd July, or in default two weeks’ imprisonment. J. Sexton v. Wm, Ivlaye, £2 12s, Bd. Defendant ordered to pay amount on or before July 30, or seven days’ imprisonment in default. G. Hall v. W, Stevens, £3. Judgment, for amount and 10s. costs. R. Martin v, J, D. Campbell, £l6 lis. Bd. Judgment for amount and costs, 19s;
