THE HUTT PARK RACECOURSE.
XtIJtUiJa.UJ. J- JT.a-n.Ja. ivaujauw KJ ji.vkj^. TO THE EDITOR OF THE NEW ZEALAND TIMES. Sin,—ln common with very many people who take an interest in our Wellington races, I lead the account o£ the meeting of the Uutt Park trustees which took place at Valentine's Hotel on Wednesday last. It seems clear that while endeavoring to -cater for the sport and amusement of the public, the Wellington Jockey Club is more likely to incur pecuniary responsibilities than receive thanks for what it so diligently, under no few difficulties, tries to do. But X think it hard indeed that any ,Hutt settler should give the club a side kick. I was sorry to see the gratuitous remarks of Dr. Wilford on the occasion. Surely, it was in bad taste, and not to be expected from any Hutt settler, much less from him.-—I am, &e., .Oil} Wellington Sportsman. Wellington, July 4.
