EDUCATION BOARD.
STANDARD PRIZES. The secretary of the Education Board has at his office a number of valuable books for presentation as prizes to those pupils attending the schoo s in the provincial district who have passed best in Standards 111. and IV. during the years 1876, 1876, and 1877. It had been Intended to give medals; but owing to difficulties in getting them struck off, it has been resolved to pieseut books instead. The pupils who have secured these honors have worked hard for them, the competition being open to all attending the Board’s schools. It has been suggested that the presentation should be made publicly, and it might be well to a gathering of all pupils on the rolls of the city and suburban schools at some central place, so that they might see their successful schoolfellows receive their rewards.
