The following vessels have left New York for Wellington :—Genevieve M. Tucker, barque, left on the 19th of February for Dunedin and Wellington; Alma, barque, for Lyttelton and Wellington, on the 3rd April: Star, brig, left on 16th February, and put Into Rio on the 12th April; Mercury, brigantine, left on Uth March for Lyttelton and Wellington. The Southminister, ship, 124 S tons, was to sail on 20th April for Wellington. The ship Piako, from Fort Chalmers to London, made a passage of 77 days. The steamer Manawatu arrived- at the wharf yesterday forenoon. She left Wanganui on Wednesday evening at 7 o'clock. Fine weather was experienced throughout the trip. The schooner Emma Jane, after a long stay In port, got under way yesterday afternoon with a light breeze. She has cleared for Guam. The steamers Stormbird for Wanganui, and Wellington for Plcton, both left the wharf yesterday at 1 o’clock. The schooners Pelican and Rose of Eden left yesterday, the former for Oamaru and the latter for Pslorus Sound. The Government si earner Stella Is about to undergo extensive alterations in connection with her cabin fittings. She will also be thoroughly overhauled. Yesterday a commencement was made in this direction on the outside portion of her hull. The s.s. Wanganui, now trading between Port Chalmers and the Bluff’, is to bo fitted with the old boiler of the s.s. Rangalira. The boiler has been ' thoroughly overhauled by Mr. E.W. Mills. It hasbeen fitted with a new bottom, and wherever there was the slightest show of a faulty plate it was removed and a new one rivetted in its place. The boiler is now very nearly as good as new. The s.s. Rotorua, from Sydney, via Auckland, may bo expected here early this morning. The steamer Jane Douglas, for Foxton, left the wharf shortly after 1 o'clock yesterday. The steamer Napier left the wharf last night for Blenheim. . . The steamer To 4 arrived at midnight last night from Lyttelton and Kaikoura. She left Lyttelton at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, and arrived at Kaikoura at 6 a.m. on Thursday: left again at 12.30 p.m., and arrived here as above. We thank the purser for report and files. Fine weather was experienced , throughout the trip.
