The usual monthly meeting of the above association was held in' the. Sydney-slreet school, on Saturday; Mr. Mowbray, in chair. - • . . V "V ‘ The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed.- ; .As this was, the day appointed for the presentation of an .address and testimonial to C. C. Graham, Esq., that gentleman attended by the special miuest' of >tho| standing committee at'l2 o’clock.: -The address v and- testimonial were presented by the President, Mr. Mowbray, on behalf of the ■ association, in a short but appropriate; speech, during which he re-marked-that the teachers-felt considerable regret at parting ■ with Jfiy Graham, and referred to the uniform kindness, which teachers generally have received at- hie bandit during the period of his office under the Board, , The i presentation consisted of a very handsome marble - clock. Graham, Esq, late Secretary to the Board of Education. ■ ' . , Dear Sir,—We, the undersigned teachers of the educational'district of Wellington,; desire your acceptance of the accompanying present,’ as a slight token of our regard for you, and of the deep sense we entertain of your courteous bearing'towards us during the Sre years you held the important pest of secretary to the hoard of Education. Among other?, That the head teachers should be permitted to visit each other’s and that the:members in turn should read av paper at’’each meeting on some subject relating to school management and the art of teaching.
