The last division of' profits took place iu 1874, and the cash surplus then divided amounted to £235,000, giving additions to policies averaging £3 per cent, per annum on the sum assured. The bonuses paid on policies becoming claims have varied from £ls per cent, on the sum assured for a policy of five years’ standing to £l5O per cent, for one of twenty-five years’ duration. Bonuses become vested additions to policies when they have been full five years in force.
