Captain Pennai, who is In command of the little craft, whoso tonnage la 10 tons, reports that ho left Auckland on April 13, with a strong westerly gale, and fetched as far as Cape PalUser without mishap. On arriving at that point the elements seemed to bo adverse to the yacht reaching Wellington, as she was driven away from that port ho less than six times. On Monday afternoon last, when within 37 miles of Wellington Heads, a terrific gale sprang up from the north-west, when the yacht was hove-to under storm canvas, with the sea-anchor down. Tlie anchor was, however, lost, and another one rigged, but the gale was so severe that the vessel was driven some 200 miles off the land. A terrific sea was running the whole time, and to odd to the danger the forestay carried away. Captain Pennai states tha» all on board gave themselves up for lost. The gale after lasting two days abated, when sail was made, and the land was made about the Kaikouras.' The Prince Alfred was spoken, and a welcome supply of provisions obtained from her. Owing to northerly weather the yacht which had sprung a leak was compelled to run for this port. Captain Pennai says that during the whole course of his experience at sea he never enconntered such fearful weather,"
