The Leucaclia, ship, of Aberdeen, 895 tons register, arrived hero from London yesterday, which po.t she left on 15th Jan , ami anchored in the Downs on ICth. Left Downs again on the 17th, and proceeded down Channel with light northerly winds and fine weather, and landed pilot at Teignmouth on 19th.' "Wind from sonth-west, light, which on 20th freshened to a gale, and from that date till the 24th heavy west southwest gales and high seas, flooding the decks with water, and completely putting a stop to any progress being made. Took a fre.?h departnre from Start Point on 25th January, with north-west gale, which took her clear of the Channel, wind continuing from northwest to south-west until Madeira was passed on 2nd February, and then light and variable weather till the Bth, when the North-east trades were fallen in with in latitude 22 N. longitude 22 \V. ; they proved very light and unsatisfactory, and were lost on 17th in latitude 2£ N. longitude 25J IV.. On the 19th the South-east trades were picked up, and the Equator crossed the same day in longitude 203 AV. These proved more satisfactory, but were very transitory,, being lost on the 25th in 18 S. latitude. Trinidad Island having been passed on 27th February, light southerly and easterly winds then retarded her progress to the south east, tacking about in different directions. Gough Island was sighted on 14th March, and the Cape of Good Hope passed on 20th In latitude 40 S. She continued to run down in from 40 to 42 S. till 29th March, when the wind coming round to the eastward forced her into a higher latitude, and St. Paul's Isle was passed on 2nd April in 45*40 S. After this the winds became very unsteady, and for the most part south-easterly by north-easterly, never having two whole days westerly wind together, and these easterly winds continued from St. Paul's Isle to the south end of Tasmania, which was passed on 21st April in 47 8. From thence to the Snares westerly winds prevailed, and they wore sighted o» the morning of the 25th April, a strong west, sonth-west wind blowing, which carried her to abreast of Otago Heads. On 20tli light north-westerly winds till 27th, and north-easterly till 28th carried her abreast of Hanks Peninsula; then southerly till 29th, thirty miles south of Cape Campbell, when a heavy north-west gale on 29th .and 30th drove ship to eastward of position about 40 miles. On Ist May southerly wind again favored, and Pencarrow light was sighted at 0 p.m. Stood off and on till daylight 2nd May, when Mr. Holmes, pilot, came on board, and worked the ship into harbor, where she anchored yesterday evening, 107 days from dock ami 97 from Start Point, The s.a. Tahiroa left Onehunga on the 30th ult., and arrived at Taranaki at daylight next morning; thence proceeded to Nelson after discharging cargo. &c., arriving there same night; left again at 8 a.m. yesterday, and arrived at Picfcon at 4 p.m.; sailed again at 0 p.m . and arrived here at 11 o’clock last night. The Tahiroa will go South this afternoon. Messrs. AV. and G. Turnbull and Go’s, schooner May arrived here from Singapore last evening, after a passage of 67 days. She experienced moderately fair wcAtlier down, and an uneventful passage throughout. She wa*i berthed at the wharf last evening to discharge her cargo of eastern produce.
