SLIP AT ORIENTAL BAY.
• TO THE EDITOR OP THE NEW ZEALAND TIMES. Sir,— Referring to the agitation about the proposed slip at Oriental Bay, the public ought to be informed that it is not true that the residents there are all against it.' The contrary is the fact. All the working men near Oriental Bay are in favor of it, as they know that the proximity of a prosperous industry would increase the value-of their - property, by providing abundance of work in the neighborhood.' .The agitation' against the slip has been got up, and is carried on, by a few Government clerks. Now the solution of the whole difficulty is easy. If the fine gentlemen don’t like tho smell of tar or paint, they ought to remove their ambrosial persons to another quarter of the city, and not attempt to interfere with the progress of industry.—l am, &0., ' Anti-Gammon. Wellington, April 23.
