WASTE LANDS BOARD.
The regular meeting of tho Waste Lands Board was held ou Thui aday, there being present —Mr. J. G. Holdsworth, chief commissioner (in the chair), Messrs. H. Bunny, Mason, W. W. Johnston, and E. Pearce. The minutes of the previous mcetiug were read and confirmed.
The Chairman' reported that no applications for land had been received since the last meet* ing of the Board.
Consideration of a letter from tho commissioner at Palmerston, deferred from tho last meeting, was resumed. It was resolved that a copy of tho memorandum submitted by the crown lands commissioner be forwarded to the Hon. the Minister for Lands, and a hope was expressed that the commissioner might be able to arrange for such an expenditure as might be required for felling the bush on tho road line and cutting drains. The Board was of opinion that the amount so expended should bo added to the upset price of the laud. The Board then adjourned.
