CHANDLER V. GREENFIELD AND STEWART.
TO THE EDITOR OF THE HEW ZEALAND TIMES. Sin, —Will you kindly insert in your valuable paper, for the benefit of shipmasters, the following warning, —never to proceed to sea without a charter party. I have been kept at the Te Kopua mill, Wairoa River, Kaipara, fifty-four days, without being able to recover for demurrage, because it was held by the Resident Magistrate that I was liable for the fault of the mill, my charterer, Mr Greenfield, (for Messrs. Greenfield and Stewart) having sworn that I was to take my chance as to all delay in supplying me with timber ordered by them.' —I am, &c,, Thomas Chandler, Master of the brigantine Exonia.
