The above Valuable Properties, with the exception of 222 and 223, are approachable by a well-made public road, known as No. 3 line, from the main Hutt and Wairarapa-road, close to Mr. Wilkins' Railway Hotel. This road has long been in use by the inhabitants of Wallaceville and Whiteman’s Valley, and for the convenience of the District the Government have made a stopping-station where the railroad crosses No. 3 line, which is about three-quarters of a mile from the Upper Hutt Station. The whole of the sections have a portion of the rich and fertile swamp, which has just been drained at a considerable expense; the remainder of the sections are beautifully undulating spurs, covered with valuable timber for fencing and other purposes. For small farms, market gardens, and private residences, no such opportunity will again present itself for parties settling themselves on rich alluvial virgin soil, in one of the most beautiful parts of the Colony, within one hour’s distance of the City of Wellington, and in the midst of a rapidly rising and important district.
