BY TELEGRAPH. LYTTELTON, Tuesday. Arrived : Alhambra, at 2.45 p.m.; she sails North to-morrow. Sailed : Hannah, for Foxton : 'Wanaka, for Port Chalmers, at 4.45 p.m. The Taupo sails North at S p.m. Passengers for Wellington: Miss J. Thompson, Messrs. W. Laing, Wien, McClernahan, Mansford, and lUslop. AUCKLAND, Tuesday. The s.s. Rotorua sailed for Southern ports, via Napier, at 5 p.m. Passengers for 'Wellington—The Rev. \V. Williams wife and servant. There are also a number of through passengers for Sydney. The departure of the s.s. Jane Douglas for Foxton .has been postponed till to-day. The steamers St. Kilda for South, and Rangatira for Napier and Poverty Bay, sailed yesterday afternoon.
The schooner Rose of Eden, timber-laden, arrived in port yesterday afternoon from Pelorus Sound. The s.s. Stormbird arrived in harbor at 8 o’clock yesterday morning from Wanganui, having left there at S o’clock the previous night. Crossed the bar at 8.30 p.m., and arrived here as above stated. Experienced strong north-westerly wind all the way. She returns to Wanganui at 2 o'clock this afternoon. The s.s. Wakatipu came alongside the wharf yesterday and shipped a quantity of food. &c., for the menagerie. She will leave for Auckland and Sydney this afternoon.
The brig Robin Hood anchored in port from Newcastle yesterday afternoon at 2 o’clock. She left .there on the Ist instant, and for three days experienced light variable winds, with heavy easterly swell; thence had strong E-S.E. wind, increasing at times to a gale, which lasted to the 12th. Was abreast of Cape Farewell on Monday evening, and had a fine ran through the Strait, arriving off the Hearts yesterday forenoon, and then beat into port to an anchorage, arriving as above stated.
