The p.s. ilanawatu sailed for Wanganui at 8 o’clock last evening. • iThe SB, Wakatlpu will arrive here this morning from the South. 1 The s.s. Hawea sailed for Auckland, via the East Coast, at 2 p.m. yesterday. The s.s. Wellington, from Nelson and Picton, arrived here at 6 o’clock yesterday morning. She left Nelson nt 1 p.m. on Tuesday, and reached Picton at 9.45 p.m,; sailed again at midnight, and arrived here as above stated. She sailed again for Picton. and Nelson at 12 o’clock last night. Several sailing craft which have been detained in port for the past few days left the harbor yesterday. Some of them were unable to get out, and conse.ijnently anchored in Worser Bay. The Lord of the Isles left the wharf yesterday, and -went down to the outer anchorage.. She has cleared at the Customs for Newcastle. , The s.s. Murray sailed at 9 o’clock last night for Nelson and West Coast-ports.’ The s.s; Taiaroa, from the South, is expected here to-morrow. The brig Drover arrived here from the Bluff with a full cargo of timber yesterday morning. She left there on the sth instant, and experienced to Banks Peninsula light variable weather; thence till arrival as above stated strong S. 13 wind. The ,p.s. Luna got away for Lyttelton yesterday morning. ' The s.s. SteUa came off the Patent Slip yesterday morning, after having her bottom cleaned and repaired. She was towed round to the wharf by the s.s. Moa. The s.s. Tui arrived here from Foxton at midnight yesterday. She left Foxton wharf at 12.45 p.m. same day, but on arrival outside the bar she, waited for the Jane Douglas. As soon as both steamers got eventerms they went full speed ahead, but the Tui soon proved .herself the faster of the two, owing we are told to recent improvements both in hull and machinery. Botli steamers it must bo remembered possess engines of the same power, and the vessels are constructed on similar models. A strong head wind prevailed throughout the run. The Tui arrives in port light, having very little cargo on board. The Jane Douglas had not reached the wharf at 1.30 this morning. .
