PROPHECY AND THE WAR.

TO THE EDITOR OF THE NEW ZEALAND TIMES SlKj—“ Neutral,” in hia letter that appeared in your issue of the 9tb, is very decided and certain about Great Britain being the nation of Israel, but it seems to me that he entirely ignores (possiby does not know) the historical facts showing how the population of that country is made up. lam rusty myself as to the chronological order of the different races, but I think I am right in saying that Ancient Britons, Piets and Scots, Norwegians, Danes, Saxons, and finally Normans, are the integral parts of those calling themselves Englishmen. If “ Neutral’s ” theory is correct, is it not a peculiar coincidence, to say the least of it, that the “ nation of Israel should be such a very cross-bred " lot ?—I am, &c., Incredulous.
