The brigantine Exouia arrived here from Kaipara with a full cargo of timber yesterday afternoon, after a ten days’ passage down. Captain Chandler reports meeting with a very long and provoking detention in Kaipara of over two months. Timber, we are informed, was most plentiful around the mill, but the machinery apparently worked badly, and did not turn out anything like the usual quantity which it has been in the habit of doing during previous months. The Exonfa experienced fine weather until entering the Strait ; thence had a heavy N>W. gale, which drove her as far south as Lyttelton, and was followed by light variable winds till arrival as above stated. .
