This steamer is only three years old, and the engine, boiler, steam winch, and everything about her in first-class order. She is 31 tons net register, and carries 50 tons general cargo under hatches. She only draws sft. when light, and sft. 9iu. when loaded. Her average speed is 7to 7i knots. The Shag is admirably adapted for bar, harbor, or river traffic, where a light draft of water with good power is requisite.
