The following Regulations have been adopted for the Supply of Water to be used for other than strictly domestic purposes, and any parties found after this date using the water supply otherwise than an hereby allowed, will 1 be prosecuted with the utmost rigor of the law : 1. That no water to be used for other than strictly domestic purposes be taken except by meter. 2. That the meter be provided by the Corporation, or approved of by the City Engineer, 3. That the cost of the meter, it supplied by the Corporation, be defrayed by the consumer, first half of same on making app'ication, and second half before the water is turned on. 4. That the charge for water be at the rate of one shilling and sixpence per thousand gallons. 5. That the ordinary water rate be remitted to such premises as take a supply by meter, for such time as the water supply is used. 6. That these regulations come in force on tire Ist April next, and to remain in force only so long as in the opinion of the City Engineer there is a sufficient supply of water for such purposes in the reservoir. 7. That the supply of water for all other than strictly domestic purposes shall absolutely cease on the Ist September next. N.B.—The penalty for* any breach of the above Regulations is a sum not exceeding £lO, and a further penalty, not exceeding £5, for each day whilst the offence is continued after written notice in that behalf. Whereas it appears that numerous buildings are now in course of erection within the city boundaries, contrary to the terms of the building regulations now in force, and without the necessary authority’ of the City Surveyor these are to give notice that immediate steps will be taken for enforcing the penalties thereby incurred in terms of the said building regulations.
