Public Notices CITY COUNCIL. NEW BY-LAWS. BUILDING REGULATIONS. NOTICE is hereby given, that it is proposed to alter the existing Building Regulations as under ; and that the proposed alterations will be taken into oon-ideration for final adoption at a meeting of the City Council to be held on THURSDAY, the 4th APRIL, at the usual hour : That the B .stern Boundary of No. 1 District in Courtenay - place be the Eastern Boundary of Town Section 220, the remainder of. the District East of that Boundary to be included in No. 3 District. That after the Ist July, 1878, all buildings erected in District No. 1 shall have boundary and rear walls of brick, stone, or concrete ; and that the bound iry walls shall rise at least thirty inches above the roof. That no verandah or balcony shall be erected over a public footpath until the design and material to be used in its construction have been approved in writing by the City Engineer. Any balcony or verandah erected without this approval shall be removed, the cost of such removal, together with a fine not exceeding £lO, to be recovered from the person offending. CHARLES C.
