(REUTER’S SPECIAL TO PRESS AQENCTJ London, March 12, Arrived—Orari, from Wellington, December Sell. AUSTRALIAN NEWS. Sydney, Sunday. Mr. Allen, a Baptist minister, held forth today, in Hyde Park, against Roman Catholicism ; 15,000 persons were assembled. As a sectarian viot was feared, 100 police were present, and the military were ready to be called out. The passengers by the Chimborazo have been brought safely to Sydney. Twenty feet of her keel is gone, but it is believed the steamer can be easily brought on to Sydney for repairs. Arrived—Australia. Melbourne, Monday. Owing- to the inclemency of the weather, the cricket match between the Australian Eleven and the Victorian Fifteen had to be postponed. In the meanwhile the Australian Eleven will play at Ballarat. Very heavy floods have occurred on the Yarra Yarra, and there has been great damage in consequence. The Plenty Bridge aqueduct from the Yan Yean it is expected will be fully repaired within a week.
