She will sail for Nelson in the evening. The schooner Rose of Kden, timber laden, from Pelorus Sound, arrived here yesterday morning. She has made a smart trip from here to the Sound and back in six days. The as. Napier was to sail for Blenheim at 5 o'clock this morning. The s.s. Wellington left Nelson at 230 p.m. on Tuesday; arrived in Picton at 11.30 p.m. same day; sailed again at 1 o'clock yesterday morning, and arrived here at 6.30 a;m. She returned to the same ports at 12 o’clock last night. The p.s. Buna salted for Westport and Greymouth at 12 o’clock yesterday.. • ■ The r.n. She will reach Nelson to-morrow morning, and if she succeeds in coming out on the same tide she may be expected here same day, - •' The s.s. Hinemoa, from Dunedin, arrived here yesterday morning at 7.80 o’clock. She left there on the 11th at 8.30 p.m., and bad strong head winds from Kaikoura. The Hinemoa will sail for Lyttelton today. , During a heavy S.W, gale in Lyttelton bn Saturday last the schooner Aspasla dragged her anchor and drifted against the breastwork, the result being, that her stern and part of,her bulwarks were considerably damaged by striking against the piles. The s.s. Wanaka arrived in port from the South at 5.30 p.m. yesterday. She left Port Chalmers at I p.rn. on Mon-lay last; arrived at Akaroa at 6 o'clock next morning; left an hour afterwards, and reached Lyt-, tolfcon at 1 p.m!; sailed again at 10.15 p.m. same day, andarrived hereas above stated. Experienced strong head winds from Lyttelton. The Wanaka will sailfor Auckland, via the East Coast, to-day. Yesterday forenoon a charge k of 751bs of powder waa exploded under the sunken hulk Ell "Whitney, which it is considered has had the effect of blowing her to pieces. Another charge of powder will bo exploded under tho hulk shortly, which will it is anticipated completely remove it... The schooner Saucy Lass arrived in harbor last evening from Pelorus Sound with a full cargo of timber.
