RESIDENT MAGISTRATE’S COURT.
Tuesday, March 12. Charles Palmer, one of the crew of the Margaret Galbraith, pleaded guilty to a charge of drunkenness, and was further charged with damaging a utensil in the police cell. He was fined 55., and 6s. for the damage, with the alternative of forty-eight hours’ imprisonment. W, J. McCulium was also fined ss. for drunkenness, and William Paul was fined 10s. for a similar offence. . MATRIMONIAL DIFFERENCES. Susan Schott, a young woman, applied for a married woman’s protection order, Tho order was granted,. Mrs, Schott to have the control of her two children, and defendant to pay 10s, a week towards their support. ' CIVIL OASES. . ; . Trustees in O’Shea’s estate v, Leach and Graggs.—-An action to recover £3l 4s. 2d. for goods supplied. Mr. Quick appeared for the plaintiffs, and Mr. Gordod Allan for the defendant Leach. It appeared from the evidence that Craggg, who had ordered the goods, had absconded, and Mr. Crawford nonsuited plaintiffs on Leach paying £ll9s. 6d. for goods bought by Craggs on his behalf.
