The Rangatira is announced to leave for Napier and Poverty Bay at 12 o'clock tomight. The s.s. Kiwi left Napier on Tuesday evening last, touched at various stations on the’eoast, and arrived rough trip from Cape Palliser. The Kiwi will sail for Castlepoiat and Napier to-d^y. The ship Renfrewshire sailed for Adelaide on Sunday morning. The immigrants per the ship Gainsborough 1 were landed on Saturday afternoon in the s.s. Moa. They appear to be a very desirable c’ass of people. The s.s. arrived in port at 7,30 a.m. yesterday from her Nelson and Picton trip.. 'She left the former port at 2 p.m, on Saturday last, and reached Picton late same night; sailed again at 2 a.m. yesterday, and arrived here as above stated. Experienced heavy weather across the Strait. The Wellington will sail again for Nelson and Picton today at2 p.m. The schooner Maiden' City arrived here from Delorus Sound on Saturday morning timber laden. The s.s. Jane Douglas arrived here from Foxton at 8 o'clock on Saturday night, after a nine and a half hours'run. Experienced heavy N.W. weather, with high-sea. down. The Jane Douglas will , sail for Foxton again at 8 o’clock to-night. The barque Rose M arrived here from Newcastle yesterday at 1 p.m. She left there on the 20th February with light S.B. wind, accompanied with heavy sea, which was followed by N.N.E. weather. On the 24th experienced a heavy S E, gale, lasting for four days, during which the two lower topsails and topgallantsail were carried away. The gale was followed Jjy a light S.W. wind, lasting till the 7th, when it increased to a heavy gale, accompanied with thick weather, and the barque ran before it till land was made out a mile ahead, in the vicinity of Kapiti. The vessel then stood on the port tack for some time *o as to clear the land, and at 9 o'clock yesterday morning she arrived off the Heads, and beat to an anchorage in port as above stated. The Rose M has on board 367 tons coal and 40,000 feet ironbark timber, the latter having been transhipped from the brig Mary Grant, which it will be remembered had to put into Newcastle through springing a leak, on a -voyage from Clarence River to this port, and which subsequently had to be towed to Sydney for repairs. Owing to the heavy N.W. gale which prevailed in port, the steamers Wallace for Nelaon and West Coast ports, Stormbird for Wanganui, and Lyttelton for Blenheim, were unable to get away till yesterday morning. Some one of them, however, must have put back to the Heads, as a vessel at anchor there was signalled all day yesterday. The Tui, which was -also prevented from leaving for Foxton on Saturday through the heavy weather, got away at 5 o’clock last evening. The a.s. Arawata, with the outward Suez mail, sailed for Melbourne via the South at noon yesterday.
