He advocated manhood suffrage, .equal electoral districts, triennial Parliaments, taxation on lauds, improved through the Public Works system, and' reform iu the administration of Crown lands. A unanimous vote of confidence iu Sir George Grey’s Government was passdd. Hokitika, Saturday. Mr. Gisborne addressed , a large meeting of his constituents at Ross on Friday evening. The Mayor, was, in the chair, Mr. Gisborne received a unanimous rote of confidence. Eeefton, Sunday. Sir George Grey and party reached here on Friday evening, and were escorted into town by the County Chairman and Councillors, and warmly received by-the inhabitants. Lithe evening the Premier addressed a public meeting, at which a thousand persons were present. He spoke for an hour, and created a verj favorable impression. A vote of thanks and confidence was carried unanimously. Later iu the evening the Premier attended a banquet, at which three hundred-persons were present. Sir G.' Grey and party were received with enthusiastic demonstrations, and left for Greymouth yesterday' morning. Christchurch;, Saturday.
