Arrived : The ship Femglen from London, after a passage of seventy-four days from land to land, and seventy-eight from anchor to anchor. She brings 1400 tons of cargo consigned to the New Zealand Company, and eighteen passengers, AUCKLAND, Monday. Arrived : The steamers Taupo and Taiaroa from the South ; Laetitia, from Blenheim. The time-ball may be used to-day for rating chronometeis. A chronometer true on Greenwich time would show 12h. 30min. when the ball drops. Any difference is error, pins or minus, of the chronometer. The barque Araby Maid left the harbor yesterday .afternoon, bound to Newcastle with a cargo of railway iron, a boiler, and several cases. It was the intention of Captain Cromarty to bring up in Worser -Hay-till this morning. The s.s. Wellington left for Picton and Nelson at 2 p.m. yesterday, and the Luna sailed for the West Coast at 8 o’cl- ck in the evening. The s.s. Hawea, with the San Francisco mail on board, left Auckland at 8.30 p.m. on the 14th instant, and at noon on the 15th reached Tauranga, after a fine weather passage. Delayed there two hours and a half, and then pushed on to Gisborne, which was reached at noon next day, against a strong head wind and high sea. At 2.30 p.m. same day left, and was off Napier at daylight on the 17th. Was delayed there tilllla.m. landing and shipping mails, cargo, and passengers, when she left for this port, arriving at 8.30 o’clock last night. From Napier to arrival experienced a very heavy S.E. gale and high sea. The Hawea will vo .South to-dav at noon. The s.s. Ringarooma left here for Melbourne via the South at 1 o'clock yesterday afternoon. The Wakatipu, from the South, will arrive here this morning, and sail again during the day for Sydney direct. The s.s. Jane Douglas arrived in port from Eangitikei late on Sunday night, and sailed again for Foxton at 5.30 p.m, yesterday. The schooner Hannah Barratt, which put in here on Saturday last, is bound to Lyttelton, having put in here through stress of weather. The brig Neptune got away for Newcastle yesterday forenoon. . The s.s. Rangatira arrived here from Napier and Poverty Bay at 6 a.m. yesterday, after a rough passage from the former port. She left Poverty Bay on Friday evening last: arrived at Napier next morning; sailed again in tbe afternoon, but owing to a heavy southerly gale and high sea had to take shelter under the Kidnappers for seven hours, which protracted her passage down. The Rangalira went round to the Patent Slip yesterday, had her bottom painted there, and returned to the wharf yesterday afternoon. She will sail for Napier and Poverty Bay this afternoon. The s.s. Stormbird sailed for Wanganui at C o'clock last evening. Amongst her passengers were eleven excursionists, bound to Kapiti Island from Wanganui, but who were unable to be landed there coming down on Saturday last, owing to bad weather.
