Arrived i Taranaki. Sailed : Circe, for Kaipara. The s.s. Napier arrived here yesterday from Blenheim, via Robin Hood Bay. She has been absent “from tins port for over a week, through an accident which placed her ashore at the mouth of the river on Monday last. She was crossing the bar that day on her outward trip, but unfortunately her propeller fouled with a large fishing net which was lost from a Wellington fishing-boat that was capsized on the bar a short time previously, rendering the steamer’s machinery useless for a time, and before it could be got in motion again she was ashore. Efforts were made to get her off the following tide, but owing to the bad nature of the bottom, the anchors were unable to hold, ami she was driven farther up on the beach. On Friday, afterall the cargo had been put ashore, she was floated off. and being abort of &c., went up to Blenheim. Started again at 2 p.m. on Saturday last, took fn the cargo, which had been landed, and crossed the bar yesterday morning; called in at Robin Hoodßa.\, and shipped wool and potatoes, arriving here as above stated. The Napier will sail for Blenheim to-day.
