Mr. James Fenton, the New Zealander Beauchamp, Campbell, & co. have received instructions from Mr. James Fenton, who has retired from the New Zealander Hotel, to sell by auction, at the Nag’s Head Yards, on Saturday, 9th February, at 2 o’clock sharp—--1 bay horse, “ Ben,” seven years old, a capital break horse, and good anywhere 1 grey gelding, “Jack,” five years old, first-class in double or single harness, good in saddle, and carries a lady „ - m 1 bay colt, “Peter,” four years old, thoroughly good in single or double harness and the break The undermentioned steady harness horses 1 dark bay horse, “ Frantic,” five years old, full brother to “ Isleman,” the steeplechaser, excellent in single or double harness, and a capital hack Pair very handsome roans, by “Quicksilver,” three and four years old respectively, broken to double or single harness 1 bay pony, 1 cream do ; a good pair, been running together, and also A 1 in single harness 1 town bus ; lately been thoroughly refurnished ; licensed to carry 18 passengers 1 double-seated buggy, by Howland, of Christchurch, nearly new 1 single-seated buggy, quite new 1 double set of best English-made buggy harness, richly mounted in aluminium 1 set single buggy harness, silvermounted 1 four-horse set coach harness, made to order, swingletrees complete 6 superior hogskin saddles 1 buggy, harness, and pony, in one lot, an excellent turnout. Beauchamp, Campbell, & co. will sell by public auction, at their yards, Cuba-street, this day (Saturday), 9th February, at 2 o’clock— The celebrated Cart Stallion EMPEROR. This fine horse was bred by Mr. S. French, of Whitemore; sire, the imported horse Lincolnshire Hero, and dam Flower, winner of twentyone first prizes. Flower by Nugget ; Nugget by Champion (imported), out of Mr. J. Jordan’s prize mare, by the imported Lincoln ; great-grand dam Flower. Lincoln and Flower were both imported by the late Dr. "Welmore, of Longford, Tasmania. Emperor took eight first-class prizes at the Longford and Westbury Agricultural Shows. PRELIMINARY NOTICE. THE STUD FLOCK Comprise—--98 ewes, two-tooth and upwards 31 ewe lambs 42 rams, two-tooth and upwards And 19 ram lambs Pure ewes were originally selected and purchased from Dr, Webster’s celebrated flock, and their progeny are by rams of the highest class. THE GENERAL FLOCK Comprise—--4000 2-bred ROMNEY SHEEP, viz.— 2200 ewes, from two-tooth and upwards ) 1200 ewe and wether lambs And 600 fat sheep. Great care and judgment have been exercised at the annual culling to render the flock of one type and character. The sheep are large-framed, and clothed with dense lustrous fleeces, and the sale will offer to breeders such an opportunity for acquiring Romney Sheep as seldom occurs. THE CATTLE. For the convenience of drafting, the herd, comprising about 130 head of fat and highcouditioncd cattle, will be brought to the ADDINGTON SALEYARDS, and sold about a week or so after the above sale, due notice of which will appear. Messrs, j. h. bethune & co. have been favored with instructions from • I Mortgagor/?, to sell by auction, at their )ms, shortly after arrival here from West:t— The well-known brigantine SARAH PILE, 115 Tons Register, Substantially built of hardwood. The vessel in first-class order and condition, having had, at a considerable outlay, a thorough overhaul, both as to hull and rigging, within the last two months, at the Wellington Patent Slip. She carries a large cargo, and is well adapted for the intercolonial trade, also for the timber trade, having a large bow port. After her arrival, the day fixed for the sale will be duly announced.
