THE OPERA.

LUCBEZIA BORGIA. It 13 with much regret that we have to record the change in the programme of the opera last night on account of the indisposition of that general favorite, Signor Caranti Vita, who we hope again shortly to welcome before the footlights. The opera, as performed last evening, was even more successful than on its previous representation. The dramatis personas were identical,, and therefore need no further notice than that the more one witnesses their efiorts the more favorable they appear. This evening Signor Camero willtakehis benefit, and has selected the opera “Aida” for the occasion, when it is expected there will be a crowded house, not only_ on account of the very favorable impression which Signor Camero has created by bis numerous impersonations in the many operas he has appeared, but also for the immense furore which the first performance of “Aida” created. It may be long before there is another opportunity afforded of hearing this masterpiece of the lyric drama, aud many many years before there appears such a perfect Aida as Signora Guadagnini has proved herself to he. All things taken into consideration, a bumper house may be expected. It is most certainly richly deserved. We hear that the orchestral power will be largely increased on the present occasion in order to render the performance as near perfection as possible.
