AUSTRALIAN ELEVEN CRICKET MATCH.

BY telegraph. Invercargill, Wednesday. The match Australian Eleven v. twenty-two of Invercargill commenced at 12.15. The latter won the toss, and went in. The weather was not at all favorable, there being a strong S W wind, with squalls. The twenty-two were disposed of for 89, of which were 8 byes and 6 leg-byes. J. Wesney, for Invercargill, scored 39, made by capital play. The Australians were' unaccustomed to the cold weather. Spufforth’s bowling all through was first-elaas, excepting in one or two instances. The fielding was not so good. Gregory made two very tine catches. When the Invercargill men were all cut the Australians sent iu the two Bannermans to the bowling of Keade and Morrison.
