WEATHER INDICATIONS, Yesterday, 9 a.m. Wind.—Between west and south and south-east generally. Barometer.—Rise throughout both islands. Sea.—Heavy at Greymouth, Hokitika, Castlepoint, and Wellington; much swell at Timaru and Oaznant. Warnings have been sent to all stations. There has been a rapid fall of the barometer since Saturday, principally in the North, though the glass continued to fall as far south as Lyttelton; it, however, rose slightly in the extreme south on Sunday. Hard gales expected. 'Thesailing of the Manawatu, for Wanganui, and Rangatira, for Napier and Poverty Bay, has been postponed, owing to unfavorable weather, till this afternoon; the former at 6 o’clock, and the latter at 4 o'clock. The s.s. Napier left at noon yesterday for Blenheim, and the Luna sailed in the evening for Westport and Greymouth. The Ladybird, from Auckland via the East Coast, will arrive here this forenoon, and sail again in the afternoon, for South. The Wanaka, from the South, is due here tomorrow morning. She will sail for Auckland via the East Coast next day. The Kiwi will sail to-day for the East Coast. The Nelson, which arrived in port from Waitapu on Sunday morning, made a very smart passage of 16 hours. . The topsail schooner Owake, with a cargo of timber consigned to Messrs. Guthrie and arrived in port at 3 o’clock yesterday afternoon. She is from the Bluff, and left there on Thursday, but had to put into Port Levy for shelter; left there on Sunday last, aud experienced a strong south-west breeze up. The steamers Albion, for Melbourne and Ilobarton via the South, and Tararua, for Melbourne via the West Coast, sailed between the hours of 5 and G o'clock last evening. • Of the vessels now coming to this port from Home the Gainsborough, from London via Plymouth, the Rialto, and the River Leven, from Glasgow, are the first that maybe expected to turn.up. The Gainsborough left on the sth November, the Rialto about the same fime, and the River Leven on the Ist November. The John R. Stanhope left New York for this port via Dunedin on the 18th October, and the Lorinda Borstell left the same port for here via Lyttelton on the 16th September. The Margaret Galbraith left London on the 13th November, the Benvenue on the 17th of the same month, and the Araby .Maid on the 22nd. Of the above vessels, the John R. Stanhope, Lorinda Borstell, River Leven, Rialto, and Margaret Galbraith come consigned to Messrs. W. and G; Turnbull and Co., the Gainsborough and Benvenue come to the N.Z.3. Co.; and the Araby Maid to Levin and Co.
