This Company has been formed for the purpose of acquiring from the original promoters the concession granted to them for the construction of tramways in the city of Wellington, and of carrying on the undertaking. The Promoters have contracted to complete the works, and to supply sufficient rolling stock and plant, and to transfer the same with all necessary stations, engine-sheds, tools, stores, &c., to the Company, in perfect working order, for the sum of £40,000, which is to be paid to them out of the capital; but the Directors, in view of future extensions of the undertaking, have thought it expedient at once to provide for additional capital. The works will positively be completed within four or five months from this date, aud arrangements have been made for carrying on both passenger and goods traffic immediately upon their completion. Experience has shown that similar undertakings have proved valuable investments, and from calculations carefully made by the Directors, they have reason to believe that the concern will prove highly remunerative to shareholders. Copies of the memorandum and articles of association may obtained on application to the Directors and Solicitors of the Company, at any branch of the Bank of New Zealand, and at the Offices of the Company. Applications for shares, accompanied by the necessary deposit, may now be made to the Bankers of the Company.
