A rather amusing incident (says the Otago Daily Times of the 29th ult.) occurred during tho progress of yeater-morning’s passenger train from Balolutha, When the train arrived at Owhiro the guard told the enginedriver that there was a waggon to be attached to the train, not knowing that it had been aken by the previous train. The guard uncoupled the engine and goods waggons from the carriages, but the engine-driver not seeing a truck, and being signalled to go, started, and did not stop until he had reached Mosgiel, where ho discovered tho train was minus the carriages. The consternation of tho passengers when they saw the engine disappearing from view may be imagined.
