W.R.C.Crew—Bow, Walker; 3, McGrath: 3, Hearn ; stroke. Woods ; cox., Nixon. Color, pink .. .. .. .. .. ~ ..2 Start at 12.27.53. Both boats got away together, the Wellington pulling a very fast and short stroke, and the Riugaroomaalougoue. A slight foul occurred just before getting out from the breakwater. On nearing the Baker’s Bay buoy tho Ringarooma was some five lengths ahead, but the Arawata shot in and rounded tho buoy first. Here another foul occurred, the Arawata closing iu on the Ringarooma too closely. The Ringarooma got away again, hotly pursued by the Arawata, who went for the smoother water, the coxswaiu steering widely. The Ringarooma rode over the broken water the best, the Arawata jumping too much. Ou entering the breakwater tlis Ringarooma had the race, and on passing the flagship waa a boat’s length ahead. The Ringarooma kept her lend round the last buoy, the Arawata not being able to catch her. The Ringarooma passed the winning post at 12.44.50, ten seconds ahead of the Arawata.
