The Manawatu towed the schooner Aspasia, bound for this port, out of 'Wanganui on Wednesday evening. She also sighted a brig and. a brigantine off Ton* Channel, beating South. The Taranaki, from the NoHh, will arrive here today. and sail North in the afternoon!

The Mataura having finished the discharge of her inward cargo, hauled away from the wharf yesterday. She is expected to sail for Lyttelton in a few days. , The steamers Stormbird and Manawa’n arrived in port from Wanganui yesterday morning at 0.1 r> o'clock, after a passage of 12 hours. They, both brought full'cargoes of wool. The Stormbird sailed' for Wanganui at 4 o’clock yesterday afternoon. The Manawatu is expected to sail thence this day at 5 p.m. The ship Zealandia has How 4700 bales wool on board, and it is anticipated that 600 bales more will make hcr.a. full ship. - She will sail for London In a few days. 5 ; 11 . , , • < The s.s. Bingarooma, Captain Clark, arrived in port from Melbourne, via the South, at 7.20 a.m. yesterday. She left Sandridgc at 3.30 p.m, on tho 12th inst., cleared the Heads the same day at 0.30 p.m., and passed Swan Island on the 13th at 2.30 p.m. Experienced variable winds and heavy southerly swell the first part of the voyage; ! then strong northerly winds, with dense fog and heavy squalls of rain, until passing tho Solanders at one o'clock on the morning of the 17th, and arrived at the Bluff at 7.10 a.m. same day. I.eft again at 4.30 p.m., and reached Lyttelton at 4.15 a.m. on tho 10th. Sailed same <h>.y at 4 p.rn., and arrived hero as above stated. Experienced fine weather up the coast The Jiingaroorna will sail for Nelson at 8 o’clock this morning.
