Arrived : Tasso, barque, from Hobarton. Sailed : Alert, for Hokitika. The s.s. Rotorua arrived in port from the South at 11 o’clock yesterday morning. She left Port Chalmers at 4 pm on Friday last, reached Lyttelton next morning, sailed again at 6.30 p ra., and arrived hero os ah .vo sta'ed. She sailed tor Sydney via Napier ond Auckland, with the outward San Francisco mail, at 1.30 p.m. yesterday. The s.s. Napier left Blenheim yesterday at 4 a.m., and arrived here at noon. She will sail again for Blenheim this evening. ■ The s.s. Arawata arrived in port from her Nelson trip at midnight on Saturday after a smart run of 8 hours. She left Nelson at 4 p.m. same day, cleared the French Pass at 6.45 p.m., and arrived here as above stated. We thank Mr, Miller, purser, for files, etc. The Arawata brought 22 passengers and 15 tons cargo. She is announced to leave here to-day at noon for Melbourne via the South with the outward Suez ™The p.s. Manawatu arrived here from Wanganui yesterday morning. The s s. Stormbird arrived in port from Wanganui -at 5 a.m. on Saturday, after a thirteen hours’run. She is announced to sail again for Wanganui this afternoon at 2 o’clock. , Tli- p.s. Charles Edward sailed for Nelson and West Coast ports at 5 o’clock on Saturday afternoon. The s.s. Rangatira arrived in port from Napier and Povcrtv- Bay at 1.30 p.m. yesterday, with several passengers'. and 270 sacks maize and 250 kits do. She left Dover y Bay on Thursday evening last, arrived at Napier early next morning, crossed the bar at noon, discharged cargo, and left at 1.45 on Saturday, arriving as above stat d. Experienced fine weather and light head wind throughout. The Rangatira will sail for N'ai/ier and Poverty Bay to-morrow. Tlie s.s. Jme Douglas arrived in port from Foxton at 2 p.m, on Saturdav. She left there at 4.30 a.m,, and experienced light N.W. wind, with heavy beam sea throughout. The Jane Douglas was bar-bound at Foxton for a day. She will sail lor Foxton this afternoon. , , The s.s. Grafton arrived from the South yesterday evening at 9 o’clock. She left Dunedin at 3 p.m. on Thursday last, arrived at Lyttelton at 3 p.m. on Friday. sailed at 5 p.m. next day. and arrived here as above stated, ihe Grafton will go down the West Coa t ti-day. The s s. Tni left Lyttelton at 6.30 p.m. on the 15th, arrived at Kaikoura at 4 a.m. on the 16th, sailed again at 8 30 a.m., arriving alongside the wharf here at ten n’c ock last night. Experienced a strong N.W. breeze from Kaikoura until arrival. The Tui will sail for F -xton to-day.
