Arrived : Mary Wadley, three-masted schooner, from Newcastle, with a cargo of coals. She was ten days on the passage, and met with very rough weather. When off Cape Farewell, she lost her fore and maintop masts. She spoke the brig Fawn off Brothers Island on the 7th, bound for Lyttelton. The barquentine Falcon, in attempting to take the bar this morning, stuck hard ami fast. It is thought she will have to be lightened before she will float. HOKITIKA, Tuesday. Sailed : Tararua, for Melbourne. The Bank of New Zealand shipped by her 26000z5. lOdwts. of gold, valued at £10,760, the produce of this district. LYTTELTON, Tuesday. Arrived : Onward, from the Thames. Sailed: Taupo, for the North, at 6 p.ra. - WEATHEU INDICATIONS, Yesterday, 9 a.m. Wind.— Generally moderate. Barometer. —No very marked improvement. Sea.--Moderate on coast. The barometer yesteiday rose to 30.00 at places south of Kaikoura, and fell during the night, wind backing into North-east, and will probably change by Worth-west and West. A slight fall of the glass took place yesterday in the North. The 5.3. Taupo, from the South, will be here this morning. She will go up to Auckland, via the East Coast, to-morrow at noon. The brigantine Hannah Broomfield sailed for Kaipara yesterday afternoon. The Napier, from Blenheim, is expected back here to-day. She will leave again to-morrow for the same port. The Tui, from Foxton, is looked for here this evening. She will go to Kaikoura and Lyttelton to-, morrow. The s.s. Wanaka. from the North, arrived in port at 5.30 a.m. yesterday. She left the Manukau on the Bth, Taranaki on the 9th, Nelson at 10 a.m. on the 10th, and Picton at 12 same night, arriving here as above stated. She sailed again at 3,30 p.m. yesterday for Lyttelton and Fort Chalmers. The s.s. Rangatira. for Napier and Poverty Bay, sailed tit 4 30 p.m. yesterday. The brigantine Endeavor, after taking in a quantity of powder at the outer anchorage, sailed for Wanganui yesterday. ■ The ketch Forest Queen reached port on Monday night late from Lyttelton, with a cargo of produce. She left there on Thursday last, and experienced variable winds up. The ship St. Leonards was towed round to the Patent Slip yesterday afternoon by the Wanaka. The Southern Cross also went round there yesterday. A change in the weather yesterday enabled the Mataura to come alongside the wharf. The Waitara is now nearly clear of all her cargo, and has commenced to take in ballast to enable her to proceed to the Bluff, where she will load for London. She is expected to leave here about the middle of next week.

The Jane Douglas got into port from Rangitikei on ’Monday night late. She will sail for Foxton to-day. The s.s. Kennedy, from Nelson and the West Coast, arrived in port at 7-30 a.m, yesterday, with a large cargo of wool, fruit, &c. She left Nelson at 7 o’clock the previous evening. The Kennedy will leave for Nelson and the West Coast this evening. , , The ketch Unity, with a cargo of wool and skins procured at Terawiti, East Coast, arrived in harbor yesterday morning. The schooner Dunedin, from Kaipara, arrived in harbor yesterday afternoon, .-he left Te Kopura on the morning of Thursday last, the Cth instant: cleared the bar same afternoon ; had a varity of southwesterly wind, with heavy rain. She brings a cargo of 51,500 feet of timber, consigned to .Messrs. Greenfield and i"tewart. The ship Hurunui, from London, via New Plymouth. arrived off the Heads yesterday afternoon ; but up to the time of our going to pres* this morning she had not reache I port, She will most probably arrive hero to-day. The ketch Clematis, Captain Bonner, arrived in port yesterday forenoon with a cargo of w«»ol from Wang-nui. She was towed out of there by the Stormbird the previous afternoon, and experienced moderate northerly winds with thick weather down. The brig M.ry Grant, 380 tons, was loading in Clarence Elver with timber for this port during the latter part of last month. . She may be expected here shortly. The Stormbird arrived in port from Wanganui at 5 o'clock yesterday morning. ' She left there at 1 o’clock the previous afternoon with the £lematis in tow, and experienced northerly winds with very thick weather, which necessitated the engines being slowed for several hours. The Stormbird will sail for Wanganui to-day. The Kiwi will sail for Castlepoint and Napier this afternoon. The s.s. Taranaki came off the I'atent Slip yesterday, and stemmed round to the wharf. She sailed for Nelson direct at 12 o’clock last night. NOTICE TO MARINERS. The following telegram, received by the Secretary of Customs from the Harbor-master at Manukau, is published for general information:— Mannkau Heads, December 10,1877. MANUKAU lIAKBOXI. The South Head beacons are now adjusted in lino to lead the course of the Fanny Channel from being N.E. by N. by compass. Care must be observed when drawing near the Tranmero Shoal not to open the South Head beacon southward, and to pay attention to the pointing pf the semaphore arms for other guidance. T. Kino.
