Power, Durham, and Hearn. —Albion, for Bluff. LYTTELTON, Monday. Arrived : Fawn and Emperor, from Newcastle ; Waratah, from Hobarton.- The N.Z.S. Company s ship Rakaia, from Greenock. She brings 2D4 immigrants: all well. She left Greenock on September 7, and crossed the Equator on October 14. Experienced a very heavy cyclone on November 23. She made the Snares on December 3. There were two deaths—one adult and one infant—during the passage. Sailed: Lizzie Gay, for Kaipara; Spec, for Wellington: Richard and Mary, for Napier; Lady Don, for Hokitika. NEW PLYMOUTH, Monday. The Hurnnui made an passage of 82 days from land to land; all rvell—no births or deaths. Captain Morrison, of Auckland, is a passenger by her. The Hurunui is to sail for Wellington to-morrow morning about 9 o'clock. WANGANUI, Monday. The schooner Colleen Bawn, from Pelorus Sound, laden with timber, is ashore at the South Spit. She went ashore at 3 o'clock this morning. She is new being unloaded, and efforts will bo made to float her off next tide. The amount of damage is not known. Later.—The efforts made at the morning tide to float the Colleen Bawn have been ineffectual. She is left higii ami dry on the Spit, with the sea washing over her at high tide. Captain Waller hopes to get her off to-night with assistance from town. He worked hard all day in discharging cargo, and in making preparations to get her off. She has not made much water. The damage to her as yet is slight; but fears are entertained for her safety if she is not afloat to-night. BLUFF, Monday, Arrived: Arawata, at 8 p.m. yesterday, and sailed for Dunedin at 9 a.m. to day. She left Melbourne on the stti December, with the Suez mails, sixty saloon and fifty steerage passengers, and 420 tons of cargo for all pons; cleared the Heads at 6 p.m.; Wilson’s Promontory at 1 a.m.; and Swan Island at 11.20 a.m. on the 6th; next day experienced fresh S.AV. wind: fine weather then prevailed until the 9tli inst., when a strong N.AV. wind with heavy sea was encountered, nntil passing the Solanders at 1.13 p.m., three days twenty-two hours on the passage. Passengers for Wellington—Mr. and Mrs. Levin, infant, and nurse, Mr. and .Mrs. McDougali, Miss Fife, Messrs. Richardson, MeDougall, and Lowes: 6 steerage; 80 tons cargo; and’l7 passengers for forward ports. NELSON, Monday. Sailed: AVanaka, at 10 a.m., for Picton, AVellington. and the South. Nov. 29,—The Catty Sark, bound for Sydney, collided with a vessel name unknown; she put back. The Chile, for Auckland, collided with the Osprev. and pn‘- back. The C ilestial Queen, for Nelson, collided with the AVansbeck, and put back to Portland. WEATHER INDICATIONS, Yesterday, 9 a.m. AVind.—Any direction between North-west and West ami South at places north of Lyttelton, but backing at places southward of it. Barometer.--Has risen to southward of Kaikoura, but will most likely fall again over that area within twenty-four hours, and rise at places north of it. Sea.—Moderate on coast.
The schooner Marmion arrived in port from Kaipara, timber laden, yesterday afternoon, after a passage of three days. The Arawata. which arrived at the Bluff on Sunday evening with the Suez mail, sailed for Dunedin at 8 o'clock yesterday morning. She may be expected up here on Thursday morning next. The 5.3. Tui sailed forFoxon at 0 o’clock yesterday evening. The Jiang itira will sail at 4 o’clock this afternoon for Napier and Poverty Bay. The Taranaki went round to the Patent Slip yesterday morning. She will come off in time to sail for Nelson this afternoon. The p.s. Manawatu sailed for Wanganui at 8 o’clock last evening with a very Urge cargo. The mission vessel Southern Cross arrived in port early yesterday in rning from Auckland. She comes here to go on the Patent Slin »o be re-coppered, etc. She left Auckland on the 28th ult., and to Cape Palliser experienced fine weather; thence encountered a series of heavy N. W. gales, against which she had to beat up to port, arriving as above stated. In a paragraph io yesterday’s issue relative to the sailing of the ships Orari, Waitamri, and Mcropo for London, an omission occurred. It stated that “ the Orari and Mcrope were placed at a disadvantage with the Waitangi. aa she was in better trim, owing to her having over 1500 b des wool on board.” It should have read “ CSOO bales undamped wool.” The Stormhird left Wanganui yesterday afternoon, and should be found in port early this morning. The s.s. Kiwi arrived in port from the East Coast with a large cargo of wool at 0 o’clock last evening. She commenced her trip from Napier at 0 p.m. on Friday last, and next morning was off Castlepoint. Station stores were landed there. 200 bales of wool taken off in the boat, and at 11 o'clock on Sunday morning she proceeded on her trip. At midnight same night she was abreast of Capo Palliser, where she waited for daylight, and then steamed into the bay as far as Waiteianga; but owing to the heavy N. W. gale blowing, no communication could be hold with the shore, and she had to proceed on to this port, arriving as above. The Kiwi will, according to advertisement, nail to-day for Castlepoint and Napier. Captain Campbell reports sighting the schooner Aurora off Wangaehu; also the Isabella Pratt, off Castlepoint, bound from the South to Napier.
