Sailed ; Transit, schooner, for Auckland, produce laden. NEW PLYMOUTH. Sunday. Arrived : Hurunui, ship, from London, eightythree days out, LYTTELTON, Saturday. Arrived : The Hopeful and Star of the Mersey, from the Bluff; Helena, from the Thames; Marion, from Kaipara ; and Rotorua, from Port Chalmers. The ships Waitangl and Merope sailed for London this morning ; also, the Sunbeam and George Noble, for Newcastle. The s.s. Taraiua, from Melbourne and Hobarton, via the South, arrived in port on Saturday at 10.30 a,m., and sailed again at 6 p.m. same day for Melbourne via the West C^ast. The s.s. Rangatira, from Napier and Poverty Bay, arrived at 12.30 p.m. yesterday. She left Poverty Bay at 6 p.m. on Friday last; had head wind and rough sea to Napier, arriving there at 6 30 next morning ; left again at 12.30 same day; experienced head winds, with calm sea, to arrival as above. She brings 300 sacks of maize and 20 tons other cargo. The s.s Taranaki arrived in port yesterday at 12.30 p.m. from Lyttelton, which port she left the previous evening. The Taranaki will go on the slip ro-day to be cleaned and painted. She will leave for Nelson to-morrow night. The cutter Hero arrived in port yesterday morning with a cargo of timber from Picton. The s.s. T i arrived in port at 10.30 p.m. on Saturday. She leftLyttelton at 6 p.rn. on the 7th ; arrived at Kaikouraat 5 a.in. on the Sth ; sailed three hours afterwards, and touched at Waipapa, where cargo was landed and some wool taken on board, arriving here as above. Experienced variable winds throughout. She sails for Foxton to-day. The schooner Albatross, from Whangapn, arrived early on Saturday morning. She left there on Thursday week last; had light winds to arrival. The ketch Thames and schooner Nelson arrived in harbor on Saturday, the former from Clova Bay, and the latter from Waitapu. The s.s. Grafton got away for Dunedin on Saturday at 2.30 p.m. The s.s Napier arrived in port from Blenheim yesterday at 3 p.m. She left there at 9 a.m. She returns to the same place this evening. The p s. Manawatu arrived in port at 1 o’clock on Saturday afternoon from Wanganui. She left there at 10 o’clock on Friday night; experienced strong westerly winds, with heavy beam sea, throughout. ; She returns to Wanganui this evening at 8 o’clock. The s.s. Stella, in charge of Mr. McKersie (her late chief officer), left for Nelson and New Plymouth, with . members of Parliament, at an early hour yesterday morning, and arrived at the former place at 9.30 a.m. The Hinemoa, for the Manukau, also got away at the same time as the Stella. Captain Fairchild took her np. The topsail schooner Excelsior, laden with produce from Lyttelton, came into port at 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon. She left Lyttelton on Friday last, and had variable winds up. The schooner Ruby, with wool from White Rock, arrived in port on Saturday afternoon. The telegram which we published on Saturday from Lyttelton re the value of the Wait-oigi’s outward cargo, appears from Lyttelton files to be inaccurate. The proper value of her cargo is £92,876, instead of £193,000 as the telegram stated. The wool alone amounted in value to £88,620. The schooner Cynthia arrived in port from Pelorus Sound 1 tsfc evening timber laden. The ship Orari got away on Saturday afternoon at 2.30 p.m. for London, and half an hour afterwards disappeared round Halswell Point with a fresh breeze. The Merope and Waitangl left Lyttelton for London also on Saturday, and a close race Home between these three smart clippers of the New Zealand Shipping C iinpany may be anticipated. The Orari and Merope are placed at somewhat of a disadvantage with the Waitangl, as the latter vessel is in better trim, owing to having over 1500 bales wool on board The Merope has over 4000 sacks wheat in her. The barque Carlota, with coals from Newcastle, arrived here on Saturday morning. She left Newcastle on the 25th ult., and had moderate northerly wind down. She arrived off the Heads on Thursday last. The Wanaka is expected here from the North tomorrow. She will go South Id the afternoon.
