Some inquiries have been made for case brandy, and holders now ask 33s 6d to 345, an advance which even then causes only a moderate profit to the shipper. Sugars are in moderate supply at £45 15s per ton for first counter, and £4O 15s for second white, Sydney refinery. Kerosene in fair stock, and quoted at Is lid for trade lots. Our market continues tn be glutted with every description of colonial produce. Prime salt butter in kegs is in little demand at OJd to 7d per lb ; second quality and inferior unsaleable almost at any figure. Fresh butter from Nelson is worth 6d per lb. ISacon and hams are firmer, and holders now ask Sjd to OJd per lb for best cure and condition. Canterbury cheese has also improved in value, prime being worth 7d to. 7jd per lb. There has been no change in flour quotations during the week, although owing to the low rates in tho Australian colonies there is a general impression that prices aro not likely to be higher. We quote best brands of Oamaru and Canterbury flour at £ls to £ls 10s per ton ; inferior do, £l3 per ton; Adelaide flour is quoted at £l7lO, with several shipments to arrive. Oals, owing to the draught and probable light crop, have hardened, and are now firm at 4s per bushel. Maize, from similar causes, in fair demand at ss, with upward tendency. Fowls feedBarley in full supply at 2s Od to 3< per bushel; bran, Is per bushel; sharps. £•' 10s to £7 10s per ton. Mr. George Thomas reports produce prices as follows :—Flour, £l4 10s to £l4 15s, colonial; £lB Adelaide ; bran, Is : wheat, 4s 3d ; hams, S.Jd; bacon, Sd ; cheese, 7d ; pollard, £0 10s; maize, 4s Od; potatoes, 355; butter, 6d. At the sale of fat cattle to-day prices were lower than last week by 2s to 3s per 1001 b. Auckland fat cattle, 26s to 2Ss per 1001 b; ship borne, 25s ; fat sheep, 2jd to 3d. NEW PLYMOUTH, Friday. At Mr. Courtney's cattle sale to-day Mr. Fantham's bull calf Earl of Darlington, from Auckland, was sold for 125 guineas. Fat cows, £8 ; store cows, £5 5s to £6; heifers, £5 10s to £7; three-year old steers, £6 to £0 10s; two-year old, £4 03 to £5 ss; yearlings, £3 to £3los; ewes, 13s 6d each. CHRISTCHURCH, Friday. Froduce quotations—Wheat, f.s 3d to 5s Od; oats, 3s 6d for feed; barley, 4s 6d to 5s tid; flour, £l4 to £ls; bran, £4 10s; sharps, £5 10s; butter, 8d; cheese, CM. The market is advancing as the drought continues. Haras and bacon, Sd in cloth. The weather is most unfavorable for the crops, and rain is earnestly prayed for. The heat duiing the last two days has been almost unbearable. TIMARU, Friday. Messrs. King and Kain report that their fortnightly sale of skins, hides, &c, was well attended. The bidding for wool was animated. Skins, dull. Sales of hides good value. Tallow and fat (inferior) did not command full rates. Cross-bred ewes and hoggets. BJd to 9Jd; merino wool, 8d to Sijd; full woolled skins. 4s sd; half-woolled skins, 2s 3d to 3s Sd; pelts, 15s 3d to 15s 4d; hides, 17s Od for heavy weights. Wheat is still at low prices, and is quoted at ss. Buyers refuse to purchase. Selling quotations—Oats, firm, 3s Od; feeding barley, 3s Od; flour, £l4 10s: sharps and bran much in demand at £5 10s and £4 10s respectively.
