BY TELEGRAPH. MASTEItTON", Friday. The Opaki Jockey Club races were most successful. The weather both days was splendid. The attendance was large. The Maiden was wou by Campion's TJira, bred in Kangitikei. Opaki Stakes of 50 sovs ; 3 miles.—Hayward's Ouida, also Kangitikei bred, Ist; Diver,. 2nd. Time, 6min. Ladies' Purse.—Blue Jacket, Ist ; Little Wonder, 2nd. SECOND DAY. Hurdle Eace ; 2 miles and a distance.— Only TJira and Kangaroo entered. The race was a gift to the former. District Eace; 2 miles; £io.~ Blue Jacket, Ist ; Queen Coil, 2nd. In the Gate Purse Mr. Hill's Verdict won the first heat, but Little Wonder won the next two. Twelve horses were entered for the handicap of £4O, one and a half miles, but only five accepted. This proved a great boil over, Gilligan's Stanley winning as he liked, Diver 2. Consolation Stakes.—Diver, 1; Queen Coil, 2. After the handicap there was a trotting match, distance, three miles, between Jay's Ranger and Crosbie's Bassett. The latter won. The loser has given a challenge for £IOO. Four men, including the notorious "Punch," broke into one of the booths, and knocked the man iu charge about fearfully. They then made general havoc. All the offenders are in, the lockup.
