The schooner Hannah Barratt, from Lyttelton, after crossing the bar on Saturday, and while beating into the river, ran into the cliff opposite the flagstaff, carrying away her jibboom and starting the taffraiL The St, Kilda arrived shortly after the accident, and towed the schooner off and brought her up to the wharf. , w , The Manawatu sails at C p.m. for Wellington. OAMA.RU, Monday. Arrived: Saturday, Garron, from Newcastle. Sailed ; .Agnes and Jessie, for Melbourne, laden with oats. HOKITIKA, Monday. The s.s. Albion arrived yesterday evening. She left Melbourne on the 27th ultimo, and had fine weather throughout. Passengers for Wellington—Mrs. Barlow, Mr. Stogdall, 2 steerage, and 119 tons cargo. SPIT, Monday. The barque Helen Denny sailed for London yesterday morning, with a cargo valued at £72,960. She also took a number of passengers. The following are the passengers :—Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Kdwards, Mr. and Mrs. Chrystal and 2 children, Mr. and Mrs. Templeman and 2 children, Mrs Gregson and 3 children, Mrs. Stafford and child. Mrs. Catheswood, Mrs. Davey and child, Mrs. Ruth, Messrs. Irvine, Perry, and Hammond, AUCKLAND, Monday. Cleared : Advance, schooner, for Dunedin via the Thames. According to Tickle and Co.'s “ Trade Review" the Rialto, 1105 tons, cleared out at London on the 4th October for this port, and the Renfrewshire, S9B tons, on the 25th September, for Napier and Wellington. The Gainsborough, Benvenue, and Margaret Galbraith were loading for Wellington and Nelson. _ The s.s. Wanaka sailed for the Manukau via intermediate ports at 2 p.m. yesterday. The Manawatu from Wanganui, and Tux from Foxton, are expected here to-day. The Napier sailed for Blenheim at 8 o’clock last night. The s.s. Alhambra sailed for Melbourne via the West Coast shortly after 3 o’clock | yesterday afternoon. . . Both, the Crownthorpe and the Waitara were entered at the Customs yesterday, but owing to the strong N.W. wind blowing they were unable to be berthed at the wharf. The s.s. Sterrabird left for Wanganui at 4 p.rn. yesterday, and the Jane Douglas left for Foxton half an hour afterwards. The s a. Kiwi left Napier on Friday last, called in at Pourere and Castlepoint, and arrived here yesterday morning with 323 bales wool on board. The s.s. Taupo, from Auckland via the East Coast, arrived here at 9 a.m. yesterday and sailed for South at 3.30 p.m. She left Auckland on Friday last. The following is the list of passengers who arrived in the Wellington from the South on Sunday—Saloon: Misses King and Swamlwlck, Mrs. Hodge, Mr. and Mrs. Green. Messrs. Hunter, Thorton, Grossman, Robertson, Walker, Beaver, Haggarth, and Beddingfield ; 8 steerage. The brigantine Hannah Broomfield, with a cargo of timber from Kaipara, arrived in port yesterday. She left there on the 22nd ultimo, and experienced light contrary winds the whole way down.
