COURT OF APPEAL.
Friday, November 30. (Before Chief Justice Prendergast, Mr. Justiee Johnston, Mr. Justice Richmond, Mr. Justice Gillies, anl Mr. Justice Williams.) REID V. THE BANK OP NEW ZEALAND. In this case the plaintiff had sued the Bank of New Zealand at Dunedin for £-143 45., the amount of a bill of exchange placed in thenhands for collection, and which amount the plaintiff claimed should be placed to his credit upon a trust account. This the defendants refused to do. Interest upon the bill was also claimed, and at the trial a verdict was given by the jury for £-190. A rule nisi was then obtained to set aside the verdict and for a newtrial, and this rule having been removed by consent into the Court of Appeal now came on for argument. Mr. Macassey and Mr. Bell appeared in support of the rule, and Mr. Barton and Mr. Stout to show cause against it. The Court reserved judgment. The Court then adjourned till Monday.
