To wit : All that parcel or tract of land situated and bounded ns follows, that is to say —beginning at the mouth of a rivulet called Waitoa, a tributary stream to the Piako River on its right hank, and which River Piako discharges itself into the Frith of the Thames or Hauraki, then following up the winding of the said rivulet Waitoa south-easterly to a point on its right bank bearing west from the summit of the northern hummock or hill of a small group called Pukiamanu, then to run from the said point at the said rivulet east to tile summit of the said uorthernmost hummock or hill of the said group, then to the summit of the south-east hummock or hill of the said group, then south-east by south to a point eight miles east from the eastern extremity of a range of hills called Kiwitahi—the said point being presumed to lie off in the direction which the said .range of hills points to—then west eight miles to the said range Kiwitahi, presumed to the west, then west along the summit of the said range Kiwitahi aud onward to the summit of another range of, hills called Pukemuremure, then north by east'to a point in the dividing boundary line between the lands of Piako and those of Waikato, and which point lies west from the west extremity of a low ridge of hills called Parawhau, about thirteen miles south from Maukoro, then east to the west extremity of the said low ridge of hills called Parahwau, and along the summit of the said ridge to its east extremity, then east to the River Piako, then along the east bank of the said River Piako downwards following its windings to the point beginning at the junction of the rivulet Waitoa with the Pinko aforesaid, containing by estimation one hundred and fifty to one hundred and eighty thousand acres more or less. ’ -Whereas the whole of the above described tract of land was lawfully purchased with my money and partly in my name for me, of Koenahi and' other native chiefs of New Zealand, on the 31st day of December, 1839, before the colony of New Zealand was founded. And-whereas my. interest in the said tract of land was illegally and fraudently disposed of to others by her Majesty’s Commissioner at the Court of Land Claims at Coromandel, on the Bth June, 1844. . _ ■ _.. And as not any expiration of time can bar the recovery' of property diverted from the right owner by fraud, Ihereby give notice to. any person or persons who may claim or occupy any part of the said land, under grant from the Crown, or repurchase from the natives or others,' or exchange now or . hereafter, that I shall take every legal ’measure as a British subject to recover my property, and shall direct my heirs and assigns to prosecute their claims to be the rightful owners thereof for ever. 5 ' ■ i .
