Arrived ; Emma, from Mauritius, with a cargo of sugar for Edwards and Co. and Sclanders and Co. LYTTELTON, Friday. Sailed; Rotorua, for North, at 6 p.m. Passengers for Wellington; Mrs. H. Gardner. For Nelson: Mr. and Mrs. Monroe and family. For Auckland : Mrs. Williams. Messrs. Cuts, J. Hill, Parr, and Eunciman.—Tui, for Wellington, via Kaikoura. Arrived : Lloyds Herald, from Dunedin; Androcies, barquentine, from New York, 120 days out. It is anticipated tnat the barque Scmehallion will finish loading for London to-night. Already she has about 2700 bales of wool and skins on board, and also 50 tons tailow. She will be the first wool ship of the season. * The s.s. Stonnbird left Wanganui at 5 p.m. on Thursday, and arrived here at 6 o’clock yesterday morning. Sho will leave again for Wanganui this afternoon. The brigantine Enterprise, from Kaipara, arrived in port at 10 a.m. yesterday with a full cargo of timber. She left Kaipara on the 12th inst., and had to contend against light southerly winds with fine weather till Thursday last ; thence had strong N.AY. with heavy squalls til arrival here as above stated. The s.s. Arawata arrived in port from Melbourne via the South at 9 a.m. yesterday, bringing 80 tons cargo and a number of passengers. She left Sandridge Railway Pier at 4 p.m. on the Bth inst.; cleared Port Philip Heads at 6.40 p.m., and passed Swan Island at 12.35 p.m. next day. Experienced fresh W. and N.W. winds and fine weather during the run across ; passed the Solanders at 4.50 p.m, on the 11th inst,, and arrived at the Bluff at 9.20 p.m. on the 12th, after a smart run of four days three and a-half hours; sailed at 5 p.m. on the 13th. and arrived at Port Chalmers at 4.30 a.m. on the 14th ; left at 4 p,m.,_and ar-, rived at Lyttelton at 8 a.m. on the 16th : sailed at 5 p.m. same day, and arrived here as above. Experienced head winds up from Port Chalmers. We thank Mr. Millar (purser) for files. The Arawata sailed for Nelson last evening with excursionists. She will return here to-morrow, and leave again at 3 p.m. for Melbourne. via South, with the outward Suez mail. The Union Company’s s.s. Wanaka arrived in port from the North at 5 a.m. yesterday. She left the Manukau at 2 p.m. on the 13th ; arrived at Taranaki at daylight the next morning : left again at 8 a.m.. and reached Nelson at midnight : left Nelson at 1 p.m. on the 15th. called in at Picton, and arrived here as above. She left again last evening for the South. The s.s. Easby will not come direct to this port from Svdnev this trip She left Sydney on Monday last at’ midnight for Port Chalmers, and should be heard of there to-morrow. She will probably arrive here on Thursday next,
