MARLBOROUGH V. WELLINGTON, A match was played at Blenheim on Saturday between an eleven chosen from the city of Wellington and a like number from the provincial district of Marlborough. The weather was magnificent, and the play good, especially ou the side of Wellington, which was the conqueror by one innings and 97 runs. The Wellington team left by the Napier on Thursday night, and returned here yesterday at 3 pm. after a very enjoyable trip. They all speak in high terms of the hospitable manner in which they were by the Marlborough men. The following are the scores ;

In the evening the Wellingtoniana were entertained by their opponents at dinner at Penny’s Hotel. A sumptuous repaat was provided, to which full justice was done, and on the removal of the cloth the usual toasts were given and responded to. During the evening the wish was expressed that the match should be an annual one, to take place alternately rt Blenheim and Wellington. The captains of the respective teams were for Marlborough,

Mr.' Fell, and for Wellington Mr. Armitage, and the arrangements made reflected much credit on these gentlemen.
