She left thpre at 2 p.m. yesterday, and was hove-to off Cape fcaunders at 11 p.rai * AUCKLAND. Thursday. Sailed : Flora, brigantine, for Kaipara and Lyttelton. GREYMOUTH. Thursday. Sailed : Alhambra, at 1 p.m., for Melbourne. The s.s. Tui left Foxton at 9.15 a.m., crossed the bar at 10 a.m., and arrived at the Wellington wharf at, 8.45 p.m- yesterday. Experienced fresh southerly weather on the run down. The ketch Unity arrived in port from Lyttelton yesterday with a cargo of produce. She left there on Tuesday last, and had an S.W. wind up. The s a. Albion arrived in port from Melbourne and Nelson at 6.30 p.m. yesterday. She left Melbourne at 3 p.m. on the 30th ult., cleared the Heads at 6 p.m., and passed The Sisters at 9 o’clock next morning. Had moderate westerly winds till the 3rd inst.. when it set in strong from the north with thick weather. Arrived off Hokitika at XI a.m. on the 4th, and cruised about outside for two days, waiting to be tendered, but owing to the heavy sea setting in, it was impossible to do so, consequently she pushed on to Greymouth at 9 a.m. on the 6th. where she arrived same afternoon, but she was signalled from the shore to the effect that she could not be tendered, and she then went on to Nelson, arriving at 8 a.m. on the 7th. Left again at 9.30 a.m. yesterday, and arrived here as ' above stated, after a nine hours’ run. Had light southerly winds through the Strait. The Albion will leave for Melbourne and Hobarton, via the South, to-morrow. The St. Leonards commenced, discharging her cargo from London yesterday. It is turning out in excellent condition. The May also commenced discharging yesterday. The s.s. Wanaka arrived in port from Lyttelton at 30 a.m. yesterday, after an eighteen hours’ passage. She sailed for the Manukau, via intermediate ports, in the afternoon Captain W. R. Williams, coal msrehant, is now in Sydney, negotiating for the purchase of a steamer to be used in the coal trade between the West Coast and this port. M , x , The schooners Aspasia (from Pelorus Sound) and Arthur Wakefield (from Timaru) arrived here yesterThe barque Australind arrived from Newcastle yesterday morning, after a good run of nine days. She left there on the 30th ult., and experienced strong N. and N.W. gales across, with very high sea. Made the land on Tuesday afternoon, arrived off the Heads next night, and anchored here as above stated. The Neptune sailed from Newcastle for this ' port same day as the Australind; but she had nob shown up last night. Captain Oliver reports passing the brig Robin Hood off Terawiti, bound to Newcastle from this port. She was then nine days out. Some anxiety is felt (says the Nelson Daily Times of the 6th inst.) about the safety of the ketch Thames, which left Wellington on the 20. h October for Nelson, laden with smokeless coal, consigned to Mr. Mabin, and has not since been heard of. It is possible, however, that she may have run for shelterduring the late gales, and is still safely awaiting a spell of moderate weather. The s.s. Napier, which arrived in port from Blenheim yesterday morning, brought the following passengers Pattie, Fisk, Williams, and .Campbell, Rev. A. R-id, Messrs. Fell, Dodson, Adams. Johnson, Roberts, Millar, Campbell, and Richards, The Rotorua from Auckland via the East Coast will arrive here to-day. She will go Sourli in the afternoon.
