The 'Working men’s Defence Association of New South Wales have added another item to their programme, namely, that of a demand for national education to be secular, compulsory, aud free. At a recent public meeting the following resolution was carried unanimously ; “ That this meeting pledges itself not to support any candidate at the ensuing elections who la not in favor of free, secular, and compulsory education, anti-immigration, encouragement to colonial industry, and payment of members.” It. was affirmed that No. X Association should, at its next meeting, proceed to nominate candidates.
